Government initiative - subsidized by DEPA

Main issues, needs, or priorities faced (or expressed) by villagers in accessing, and/or using digital solutions, services, or innovations (examples: reliability/strength/slow internet connection; access through local language; lack of adatpation to needs; urgently needed services not available, accessible, affordable, etc....)

This village has several digital innovations that are widely used, but more training and capacity development are needed to expand use. Moreover, successful digital applications already in use, but appropriate business models are still needed to expand and scale up digital innovations in the village and larger region.

The digital service is the smart water management for famers using IoT for watering and providing factors of production for organic vegetables production. The technology developer is an agricultural cooperative. The technology development is in the commercial stage and partially subsidized by DEPA with 200,000 baht. People outside the group must sign up through a general account to use it and can be accessed at any time. It is an application that can be downloaded for free. The technology needs: 1. An introductory tutorial to teach how to enable and work; short intensive training in software, applications and hardware; require service providers to fill in basic information before using (such as what crops to plant, what month to plant); and regular training and follow-up field monitoring and supervision. The price of the device is about 1,200 baht. The most obvious result is the water dispenser that can reduce the cost by about 5 times. Currently, it has expanded to about 10 provinces (Nakhon Ratchasima, Lamphun, Chiang Mai, Buriram, Surin, etc.) by establishing an innovation center in a self-operated manner by youths and Khun Niran back to set up the center to share knowledge and to help grow vegetables in their own area.
