SMARTFARM KOREA
Republic of Korea
SmartFarm Korea is building an optimum growing environment for crops through open and integrated data platform for smart farming. It collects, analyze and process smart farm operation datasets, and provide integrated, comprehensive and open access to information on smart farming. SMARTFARM KOREA provides a library of greenhouse horticultural crop and livestock farming datasets through a service called Smartfarm Datamart. Currently this database contains data covering seven greenhouse horticultural crops (tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, sweet peppers, cucumbers, eggplants and oriental melons) and livestock production (of beef cattle, dairy cattle, pigs and poultry). The datasets of Smartfarm Datamart comprise field data collected since 2016. SMARTFARM KOREA offers a self-assessment tool for livestock farmers seeking to boost their productivity and sales through advanced technologies and data-driven farm operations. Farmers can gauge their farms’ digital readiness for the use of a big data analytics platform by entering details about their farms concerning for example the livestock species they raise, their breeding environments, the diseases/insects they are exposed to, and their farm operations.
