The Agrometeorology Tool (AMAMAS) for Weather Forecasts and Alerts
Papua New Guinea
The Specialized Expert System for Agro-Meteorological Early Warning (SESAME) serves an agricultural advisory system for early warning and day-to-day crop management. It generates and utilizes user-relevant agro-meteorological information for the early warning of natural hazard risks and for guiding resource management plans and decisions. Agro-meteorological services and advisories are considered an innovative shift that enhances weather information-based crop/livestock management strategies and operations. This tool ultimately enhances crop production by providing location-specific, real-time crop and agrometeorological services with a crucial level of outreach to rural communities.
