FarmerLink Initiative
Philippines
FarmerLink Initiative is a multi-stakeholder program led by Grameen Foundation, in collaboration with the Philippine Coconut Authority, Franklin Baker, and People’s Bank of Caraga. The Initiative main objective is to provide farm advisory services to imrpove farming productivity, reduce crop losses to pests, diseases and weather disasters. The initiative also facilitate market linkages and access to markets and also promote access to adapted financial products and services. The program uses a suite of digital interventions directed and leveraged existing field officer networks in deploying the mobile tools and offering one-to-one extension services to farmers. An early warning system was developed and deployed to directly send weather, pest, and diseases advisories to farmers’ mobile phones, along with practical advice to minimize losses
