India
Agri Stack is a government-led initiative that seeks to bring together agrotech ans startup developers and digital services providers with farmers as potential users and beneficiaries of digital services, applications and solutions. Agri Stack is being built by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare om a open structure using a federated structure managed by participating state governments. Agri Stack central aims is to make it easier for farmers to get easier access to cheaper credit, higher-quality farm inputs, localized and specific advice, and more informed and convenient access to markets. Agri Stack also aims to make it easier for governments to plan and implement various farmer and agriculture-focused benefit schemes. The initial building blocks of the AgriStack (under development) include - (i) Farmer and Farmland Plot Registries; (ii) a Unified Farmer Service Interface; (iii) a Crop Sown Registry; (iv) Agri Stack Sandbox

Business and governance structure
Model: AgriStack architecture has the following foundational layers: Core registries, Base databases, Farmers Database; Farmers ID linked with land records, Geo-referencing of plots, Crop Survey, Crop planning and, Soil Mapping, Soil Fertility Structure: AgriStack is a federated structure and ownership of data is with the states only. Access to the federated farmers’ database is with the government only. No private company is involved in developing the federated farmers’ database.

National level initiative by the Government of India but pilot is being implemented in 100 villages in Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajhistan, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh. Currently, it is being piloted and users are mainly farmers from 100 villages in Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajhistan, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh. But ultimately, the platform is meant to serve all farmers acorss the country (or participating States)
